Easter Store Inventory Ideas
There are so many fun options for Easter store stock. To make it easier I decided to organize ideas into lists. I got all of the items in my Bunny Store pictures from Target, my favorite store on the planet. The dollar store and Walmart are great options too. The birthday party favor aisle is a great place to find packages of multiple fun toys that are super cheap. If you want to shop online, Oriental Trading is a great resource.
Bunny Store
You can spend a lot of time and effort on setting up your bunny store if it’s something you enjoy doing, or you can throw a few dollar store trinkets and some candy out on a table and have the kids barter with you for the price, or something in between. That is the beauty of Bunny Money. It is so easily adaptable. The kids will just love the experience of spending their own “money” and buying things they want.
Here are my ideas and suggestions:
Use levels for a great display. Whether you stack a box or a bunch of books under a tablecloth or use a cake stand or wooden crate, varying the heights for your store display makes it more visually pleasing.
I love using bright and colorful things that coordinate.
Be creative with what you've already got. No need to go out and spend a lot of money. Look for things from around the house like baskets, egg holders, berry baskets and bowls.I love using this plastic grass I got from Hobby Lobby to display small toys.
Jars are pretty for displaying your goods and the kids get excited to ask for something from the jar. It just somehow makes things more special. They really like filling a small bag with a scoop of candy, you can charge one bunny dollar for a scoop of jellybeans and they’ll feel like they’ve scored a bargain.
Displaying candy or snacks in boxes gives a very realistic store display look. For these snacks I just tore back the lid of the box they came in and folded it behind them to help them stand. Super simple!
Bunny Money
I’m so excited to share Bunny Money as Our Humble Hive's inaugural post! My mom started doing Bunny Money when I was young and it has become one of our favorite traditions. I can vividly remember hunting for Bunny Money and spending it at the Bunny Store. When I realized that the Bunny Store stocked bright pink hair paint that you could use to dye a piece of your hair, I was in heaven. I’m sure it was something that my mom picked up for a few dollars, but I’d thought I had won the Easter lottery! I hope this inspires you to start your own Bunny Money tradition.
Instead of the usual Easter egg hunt with plastic candy filled eggs, fill your eggs with Bunny Money. Kids of all ages will be filled with delight as they gather enough "money" to shop at "the bunny store" where they can spend their Bunny Money on trinkets and treats. Young kids are eager to learn how to keep track of and count their money while choosing to spend it on items they want most. Older kids will be excited to buy those special things that you have stocked in the store just for them. If I'm being completely honest, the above hair dye story may have occurred when I was about 14 years old. This can also be a great way to have a fun a candy-free Easter egg hunt. Don't kids get enough candy around Easter anyway?
